A Future Chef in the Making
Pupils at King Authur’s School, Wincanton, were challenged in a young chefs competition to produce a balanced meal for two for £10 or less. Guy Mann (Year 10) won with his roasted pepper and chickpea soup with parsley dumplings and pan fried cod wrapped in parma ham on a bed of sliced potato and creamed peas.
His prize was lunch for two at Holbrook, plus a morning’s training with our Head Chef, Kevin Hyde. Guy learnt some tricks of the trade and some new ideas for his next round of competition in the area finals, where he has to produce a two course meal for £10 in under an hour.
We wish Guy luck and hope he does well in the competition and look forward to seeing him soon at Holbrook House. |
